#Destinymoments
The unfolding of God’s plan through history has been to get us to the place that Adam was before he was disconnected from God. As Bible history unfolded, God dwelt in a tabernacle in a tent so He could be close to His people as they, like we, couldn’t be connected with God because they were spiritually dead, a state we had all inherited from Adam. Then He dwelt in the temple and from here, temple worship and activity became the focal point of Israelite society because life in God is where life begins.
In the new age ever since Jesus incarnation, life, death and resurrection, the presence of God has been extended from the physical temple (or church) to us, His creation, as we have become His temple.
The physical temple of the Old Testament was given as an example of how the glory of God will cover the New Testament temple (us) i.e. any person who has been made righteous by receiving Christ. What then this means that is that through salvation, God is illuminating our inner darkness by the light of His Word and in the process cleaning us up spirit, soul and body. What the Word does is that it renews our minds and develops the mind of Christ in us over time (if we actively study it), and from there, we move towards our purpose and destiny as we learn to be led by the Holy Spirit and we begin to live the glory filled life that God had always intended for us to live.
The life that Adam had before the fall, that was given as an example by the physical temple Solomon built that was filled with God’s glory, meaning Adam walked in God’s glory and because Jesus came to restore what Adam lost, that means that we are supposed to not only receive Christ to go to heaven but have God’s glory overshadow us the way the Old Testament temple was filled with His glory.
The temple Solomon built was destroyed when the Israelites went into captivity, and after 70 years when God returned them to Jerusalem and they rebuilt the temple, but at that time it wasn’t as grand and filled with God’s glory as the temple that Solomon built, and it hasn’t been ever since.
But then God says “the glory of the latter shall be greater than the former in Haggai 2:1-10. In another place He says the whole earth shall be filled with the glory of God (Habakkuk 2:14). I believe the glory that the two passages talks about is fulfilled in us unveiling the glory of God as we walk in purpose and destiny as Adam did. I believe so because Paul in 1 Cor6:19 says we are the temple of God. So this ‘latter glory’ is fulfilled in us becoming the temple of God and as this happens to many of His children, the glory of God fills the whole earth.
This is probably why the Old Testament talks more about the physical Temple than does the New Testament. This promise is true for each of us whether or not your life looks like it. It is then up to each of us to allow for this glory to become by receiving Christ (because He is the way); then have our minds renewed by constant, active reading of His Word; and spending time in worship and prayer as this activates that God life within us. Through this process, your mind, ultimately, starts to change as you begin to think and see the world around you as God does.
Jesus’ life is the perfect example as He walked with God and learnt about His kingdom through the Word (you know this because at every point He always said ‘’it is written’’). Then when He was ready at age 30, the Holy Spirit came upon Him for His purpose here on earth: to preach the gospel and re-introduce kingdom life as God intended it; to die on our behalf in order to connect us back to God and activate that kingdom life within us.
With all this in mind, life was not meant to be random as you barely get by but abundant and filled with his glory so go ahead and receive the free gift of abundant life by Jesus’ sacrifice. Obviously this is a journey that will go from one degree of strength to the next with intermittent points and seasons of challenges, but guess what, God has factored those in to build you up in character and capacity to be able to contain the life He’s set for you, so instead of running from those seasons, face them knowing that Jesus the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last has gone before you and fixed the fight on your behalf for your victory!
Re newing ones mind with the word of GOD increases our faith.
Yes it definitely does…which then brings to pass that which your mind has grasped
Praise be to God! This word has blessed me!
So glad to hear Comfort!
