The ultimate tangible output of the process is to not only develop your character but also the mindset that will ensure you appropriate everything that heaven ordained for your life. And so for this reason, God takes you out from your ‘normal life’ so to speak and sets you in the background so your mind can be renewed. This is vitally important because when we are born, we are born with the sin nature, and because this sin nature is so intricately intertwined with our world, it has tainted anything and everything that has influence over so much that it is part of the culture around us. This then is double trouble because this culture then cultivates that sin nature we are born with and we live lives way below our potential because of not only what we have inherited but also what the culture has framed our minds to be. So then when we receive Jesus into our lives, the God nature in us then begins to war with our cultured minds and what ultimately wins in terms of how your life is designed is what you constantly feed. If you have received Christ but do not feed your mind and soul with the Word and are not constantly in His presence, then your life is taken over by what your mind is accustomed to i.e. your old life and you feel defeated in your walk with God. But in having received Christ, you constantly and aggressively even, expose yourself to God’s presence in worship, prayer and meditation, as well as His Word preached not only from a pulpit but also in quiet times of meditation, your life begins to be aligned to what heaven has in store for you.
Speaking personally, I had been a Christian from the time of my teenage years but it is only in the last few years that I had began to start living victoriously because I got tired of living a defeated Christian life. I started to ask God where the abundant life he meant for me to have when he died on the cross was. This was my turning point because in constantly being in His presence, especially worship, His presence began to change me and reveal certain things about my life, wrong foundations i.e. grave sin that existed in generations past for which I was paying the price; the wrong people I surrounded myself with; certain elements of culture that I was exposed to that were outrightly sinful; wrong thinking; my destiny and purpose and what God’s intentions are for me, as well as what it would it take to have those things come to be. All these revelations were incremental as I continued in His presence and over time, whatever God revealed, He dealt with and its influence over me so that the freedom to be all that He meant for me to be became more and more evident with time. Over time when I look back, I now see the ultimate tangible output of the process…to create in me a kingdom mindset that’s able to hear the voice of God for myself, understand how the kingdom of heaven operates, and appropriate it in my life such that I effectively walk in the power of His will, purposes and blessings for my life. The process I’ve been in has grown in me the mental, psychological and emotional maturity stemming from a spiritual foundation that’s born in God which is then now producing the life God intended for me to have on an incremental level.
So keep on in the process, God is creating in you what no eye has seen, nor ear has heard, nor mind perceived…because its coming straight from the factory of heaven and meant for you to live a glory filled life, as you await your heavenly arrival. The unpleasant parts of life are all part of that process that produce in you an agility, tenacity, mindset and faith that brings to pass God’s mind over your life. And whatever is born of heaven out of this process, is not wishy washy but meant to be permanent not only for you but, also for generations after you as you leave it as legacy that they inherit. Deuteronomy 29:29 says “the secret things belong to the Lord our God, but those things which are revealed belong to us and to our children forever….”. And this not speaking merely of spiritual things as an end in themselves, but how the spiritual things that we learn affect every area of our lives; family, career, business, finances etc and these are things that we pass on to our children. So don’t lose heart in your process, God is building in you an inheritance that is unique to you and you will pass on to your children and generations after you, and whatever has God’s hand on it is nothing small!
As promised, find below Tony Evans third sermon on ‘Detours to destiny – the proof of detours’
Insightful as always. What i have learnt is that detours will occur whether we are in God’s will or out of it. The former will remind us that God is with us even in times when we don’t understand. The latter offer an opportunity to get back on course and not to make the same mistakes over and again. Regardless of the nature of the detour to destiny, a detour is just that, a detour. It does not in any way eliminate our destiny and God is always there to get us on track. The key is to spend time seeking him in his presence. Thanks Zuge❤️
Most definitely. Detours will happen regardless…but it is ultimately our choice whether or not we get to our destiny because from God’s perspective, it is already finished. Our bit is to work out, what has already been finished. Whether or not its a detour from choice or God allowed it, both present opportunities for our destinies to unfold, depending on what we choose to do with the choices we face…
I choose to live in the freedom of Christ. I place my life in His hands. I pray that I may be transformed by the renewal of my mind. I choose to walk in the victory that Jesus won for me at Calvary. I know that there shall be a manifestation of the tangible output of the process. Blessed be God!
Me and you honey…!
