Coming into your destiny is a free gift from God through receiving the salvation He offers us by His Son, Jesus Christ. Though it is a free gift, it is not cheap, it didn’t come cheap in how we have come to receive it, Jesus had to die on our behalf so we wouldn’t be the ones to die for our sins and sin nature. Beyond receiving salvation, coming into your destiny is not cheap because it will have to take all of you and especially how your mind thinks to get into it. The Bible says God’s thoughts are as far as heaven is from earth, our lifestyle as humanity springing from our thoughts has been so skewed outside of God’s thoughts such that when Jesus came on the scene, we didn’t recognise him as our Saviour but instead labelled him as a fanatic and had him killed. Left to ourselves, we will self destruct, and that is because of what happened in the beginning when Adam and Eve sinned. What actually happened when they were banished from Eden, is they went out from God’s presence and His covering by His glory and came under the enemy’s rule, authority, power and influence because in everything physical originates from the spiritual and in the spiritual realm, there are no vacuums. So whatever is devoid of God’s rule is automatically taken over by the enemy in one way or the other. That’s why when Jesus came on the scene, he called Him ‘the ruler of this world’. And that’s why the enemy when tempting Jesus was able to offer him the kingdom’s of this world if He bowed down to worship him. But if you noticed, Jesus in His response did not say, ‘you liar, you do not own the kingdom’s of this world’. Instead He said, ‘you shall worship the Lord your God and Him only shall you serve’. That’s because the enemy legitimately owned the kingdom’s of this world that he stole from humanity when we lost our authority over the earth after Adam and Eve sinned. So then everyone born after Adam and Eve is born outside of his inheritance and it is through salvation that we have the means to get back what belongs to us. That’s why the Bible says, the kingdom of heaven has suffered violence and violent take it by force. It suffered violence when the enemy stole it from humanity and you take what belongs to you from his hands by force through the power of God received by salvation. That was the whole point of Jesus coming to earth, to restore the kingdom or the rule of heaven here on earth and give us back what rightfully belongs to us. That’s what He meant when He said, ‘the kingdom of heaven has come’.
But then the tricky part is how our minds have been conditioned prior to our salvation. This is because the enemy has so infiltrated our way of living that lack, disease, sickness, oppression, lying, stealing, the struggle to make a living, etc and everything contrary to an abundant life has become such a normal part of human culture and way of life that we have accepted it so much so that we do not know any other way to live. And in this, our minds have become conditioned and that’s where the problem begins. The bible says, as a man thinks so is he. Our lives then become a sumtotal of our mindset. So to first of know discover who you are in God, what you possess in God as your inheritance and actually get live in that inheritance will then take a mind overhaul. This is why whenever Jesus talked about the coming of the kingdom, he said ‘repent’. The meaning of that word in the Bible is to change your mind. Romans 12 verse 2 says “do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – His good, pleasing and perfect will”. So paraphrasing this, you can’t receive what God has in store for you unless you truly understand it with your mind. This then should form the case for why you should pray and read the Bible every single day. So your mind is able to understand your inheritance in God, without which you will not enter into all God has for you. This takes time because of our preconditioning, but it is a powerful thing once you have ‘developed the mind of Christ’ because nothing becomes impossible to you. The trick the enemy used on Adam and Eve, to make them sabotage their inheritance by messing with their minds to make them disbelieve God’s word is still rampant and alive today. So put on the helmet of salvation and guard your heart and mind and don’t let the enemy steal God’s word given to you because it’s your belief in His word given to you either through prophecy, inclination, reading the Word, or any other means, that ultimately brings to pass what God has said….your faith and nothing else. So keep in the Word of God to keep your faith stirred up and walk into the fullness of your inheritance!
